The First Annual Bungy Challenge in Support of MS
Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 11am
The Goal:
Raise a minimum of $10,000.00 in support of the MS Society.
The Challenge:
Two contestants, both afraid of Bungy Jumping, compete to raise the highest donations for the MS Society. The person who raises the least is forced to Bungee Jump from the 150ft high bridge. The loser (who jumps) picks next year’s challenger. The winner must stand to the challenge until defeated.
Donations are accepted until midnight on May 26.
The winner will be announced at 11AM on Tuesday, May 27, followed by the loser jumping from the Bungy Bridge. Spectators welcome.
Watch the challenge excerpts from A-Channel News (57mb .wmv file).
The Competitors:
Tom Benson, President of WildPlay Element Parks has never Bungee jumped - and he doesn't want to! Tom is afraid of jumping from his own bridge. A former mountain guide, he maintains it goes against his every fibre to let go and fall off a bridge. Worn down by the teasing of his staff and guests, Tom said he would consider jumping only if the event raised a lot of money to support a good cause. He chose the MS Society – since his mom has MS. Tom's staff have chosen to support Jonathan Bartlett.
Donate to toss Tom off the bridge!
Jonathan Bartlett, Mid-Island Bureau Chief at A-Channel is terrified of jumping, making him the perfect Bungy challenger. Unfortunately for Jonathan, he really didn’t consider that many more people would pay to see a celebrity jump from the Bungy Bridge. Despite these overwhelming odds, Jonathan feels he will prevail and walk away from the Challenge victorious.
Dash his hopes and donate to toss Jonathan off the bridge!
Zip By Donation!
On Sundays until May 25, experience WildPlays Canyon Zip for a donation to the MS Society and support Tom Benson's campaign not to jump.
